Just 3 weeks into the academic year, SUMS sets its first Clinicopathologic Conference at the Physicians Hall on June 24, 2015. Presented with a case of Isolated Pulmonic Valve Endocarditis, a case presentation was prepared by a group of 3rd year students followed by a management and treatment course by the 4th years. Among the 3rd year presenters were Eljay Abella, Caizelle Alcala, Noel Aliguyon, Thea Alonzo, Jonathan Amante IV, Jeremiah Aquino, Jonahmae Bandico, Alwina Barilisan, Hanna Bejarasco, Mohammad Benasing, Jennalyn Bigno, Ryanne Bogabong, Casey Buenavista, Danielle Cabahug, Sigrid Cabilles, Eiffel Calumpong, Louie Cimafranca, Phil Conteras, Roy De Guzman, and Hazel Delmo. This was the first time the batch was able to participate in the said event. To conclude and discuss the final diagnosis were Dr. Caesar Antonio O. Ligo and Dr. Silahis O. Rosario, both active consultants of Silliman University Medical School under the Pulmonology and Cardiology Department, respectively.

Each month, consultant faculty members assign a certain case of which the whole school has to investigate and identify its diagnosis. Together with the respective consultants, the Research and Academics Committee organizes this monthly school-wide event that relies on a case method of teaching for students to develop their clinical problem-solving skills as early as 1st year. This year’s committee is headed by Ivy Salig.
