With its theme: “Transcending Medical Education through Sports and Camaraderie”, Silliman University Medical School organized a one-day activity last September 26, 2015, to bring out the competitiveness and lay-off the stress from the medical students. The simultaneous sports competitions were held in front of the Medical School building for Volleyball and at Silliman Medical Center (SMC) parking lot for Basketball. And in the evening, the Physician’s Hall was the venue for the search for Mr. and Ms. Medicine 2015. It was a day of triumph for the sophomores as they dominated this year’s SUMS cup. They championed in the co-ed Volleyball tournament, landed 1st place for Basketball Men and 2nd place for Basketball Women. And to top it all, their representative took home the Ms. Medicine 2015 crown. It is but sufficient to say that second years are a force to be reckoned with. It is impressive that the undeniably busiest year level in medical school emerged as this year’s overall champion.
