Silliman University Medical School freshmen attended the Nutri-fit Walk, a citywide event, on July 12, 2015 in celebration of Nutrition Month. This year’s theme, “Timbang Iwasto Sa Tamang Nutrition at Ehersisyo”, was to encourage everyone to live a healthy lifestyle.

The pear fruit as SUMS mascot, the medical students plastered a cut out on their chest as they walked through the streets. The short parade ended at the Freedom Park, where hundreds of students of different universities, colleges and institutions in Dumaguete City congregated for the program proper. The crowd was welcomed by Mr. William E. Ablong, City Administrator and City Agriculturist.

Also in attendance were City Mayor and Chairman of the City Nutrition Council Manuel “Chiquiting” Sagarbarria who gave a message, Congressman George Arnaiz of the third district, and other city officials.
